Term: Bright

Refers to a flat brush whose hairs are not as long (the width and length of the brush head are normally equal). The bristles on a bright brush are stiff and can be very stiff depending on the type of hair used. Bright brushes are good for driving paint into the weave of a canvas in thinner paint applications, as well as thicker painting styles like impasto work.
