Term: Chromatic Black

Chromatic black is a paint color mixed from various other dark colors (such as, red and green or blue and red). Although the mixed color appears to be black it does not contain any black pigment. Chromatic black typically leans toward one color or another making it more complex and interesting than black from a tube.
